What is the NCAS Assessment in BC?

Two-Part Exam to Evaluate Your Readiness for RN or LPN Licensure in British Columbia

If you're applying to become an RN or LPN in British Columbia, the NCAS assessment is required to assess your nursing knowledge, decision-making, and clinical skills.

Part 1: Computer-Based Assessment (CBA)

Format: Multiple-choice and multiple-select questions based on real-world scenarios
Duration: 3 to 5 hours, depending on your track (Dual-track/Triple track)
Location: Global testing centres or remote proctoring (some tracks)
Focus: Clinical reasoning, prioritization, and safe practice in a Canadian context

Part 2: Simulation Lab Assessment (SLA)

Format: In-person, hands-on evaluation in a high-fidelity simulation lab
Location:Langara College in Vancouver and BCIT in Burnaby
Focus: Clinical skills, communication, documentation, and patient-centered care
